Student Spotlight: Rihanna Maria

Music is important to me because it’s my voice when words aren’t enough.
Singing is more than just a hobby—it’s how I express emotions, find peace, and connect with others on a deeper level. Whether I’m happy, sad, or stressed, music always brings me back into balance. It gives me confidence, comfort, and pure joy, and it will always be a part of who I am.
Learning music has also opened the door to some of my biggest passions and accomplishments. It helped me grow into a performer and gave me the courage to use my voice in new spaces. Because of this growth, I became part of Varsity Choir and Cadence Choir, where I’ve had the opportunity to sing at key events across the school district. Music has also led me into musical theatre productions and talent shows, allowing me to share my love for performing with audiences beyond the classroom.
Playing the piano is another way I express myself creatively. It brings me peace, focus, and reflection, and reminds me that dedication and hard work can turn into something beautiful—music that speaks without words.
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing as both a singer and a musician, and to become an amazing performer who inspires others through music.
