Támar is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and actress from Houston, Texas who rose to prominence as a Prince protégé. Prince recruited her in 2005 after an impromptu audition (that is the level of raw ability we're talking about) and she went on to make major contributions to his 2006 album 3121. She co-wrote and sang on his duet "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed," earning her own Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

Her story starts even earlier. Támar was a young member of the R&B girl group Girl's Tyme and appeared with them on Star Search before departing prior to the group's re-branding into Destiny's Child. Yes, she was an original member of Destiny's Child! She graduated from Houston's prestigious High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) and studied music business at the University of Southern California.
