Musikgarten Summer Camp
June 8-12
Twist and Turn
Twist and Turn is a curriculum for mixed ages, filled with a great variety of music and movement activities to meet children's developmental needs, to hold children's interest in the group setting, and to bring families together. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring siblings in this age group together! We will be experiencing sounds of nature, instruments, and nursery rhymes which offer today's children what current research and practice tell us they need: communication, movement, interaction, repetition, and cultural customs - all experienced in a playful way. Class materials include a CD, Parent Book with activities and words to songs and rhymes, and one pair of Grooved Rhythm Sticks.
- When: June 8-12
- Time: 3:30-4:15pm
- Cost: $160 (materials included)
Music Makers at Home
Music Makers at Home is a more advanced curriculum for children going into Kindergarten and First Grade. The Seashore theme uses the sounds of the seascape and animals that live by and near the sea to introduce musical expression, discover instruments of the orchestra, and recognize simple rhythmic patterns and staff notation. Children will use many different instruments to express themselves both individually and with the group. We will even learn to play simple melodic patterns! Parents, care-givers, and siblings are welcome during the last 15 minutes of class while we play special music games, learn dances, and play in larger group ensembles. Class materials include a CD, poster, game pieces, parent's book, melodic pattern cards and more!
- When: June 8-12
- Time: 4:30-5:30pm
- Cost: $160 (materials included)
